Malachais here's the picture we talked about: remember this pic is of the AVT50 in yours you would go to R204. Just make sure you get the negative side of the capacitor to the ground side of the resistor. If you want to give me a picture of your board in the area of R204 I should be able to help you figure out what side that is.  |

Its hard to see, but is R204 and R205 connected together on the bottom side? (Blue line in picture) If yes then the red arrow is the ground side. If not then the top side is the ground side.  |

hey there fixer. nice mod...... adds a nice tone on the clean channel. the gain is there, but not distorted... so great for that "full tone" accoustic stuff. the only thing.... it boosts the volume also, especially in the clean channel, so the clean / od's are balanced volume wise, then flip the boost and the clean is to loud in comparison to the od's dirty channel is nice. cheers malachais |

What value capacitor did you use? You could try a lower value and see if that lowers the volume. If it does another idea would be to use a on-off-on switch and have the current capacitor on one side and the lower value on the other side, have two diferent switchable gain boosts.

hi to all, i'm new here. i have avt50 combo, i tried the gain boost and its really good option to have but i am really intrested on adding clean channel midrange control. does anyone have a schematic for it?

I highly recommend getting the tc electronics dark matter pedal for boosting an avt for sure thier cheap an actualy work very well.on an added note you can us it on the clean channel with it as as a preamp add the electric eye mudkiller in front of the dark matter and really get some nice metal tones
