just to let everyone know. i recently sold my jcm900 tube amp, to replace it with an AVT50x. yes some call me crazy, but to be honest with you. the AVT sounds 10 times better. tube amps are nice, but to me you cant beat the tone ov a AVT. especially at any volume.(unlike a tube amp, haveing to find the sweet spot) i already had an avt20, but i wanted something just a tad bit louder, just incase if something came up unexpectedly, and i needed the extra volume. im still trying out new preamp tubes, so if anyone got any sugestions on a tube, just let me know.

hey nice to see you here too dude, you did not necesarily did the unthinkable! as long as is right for you, as i stated on another thread here i was able to get very nice tones out of my avt a week ago diming the OD and using my lp volume, was easier to dial than my dsl not that the dls cant do it but i have to work on my settings
on my avt50 i use to have a eh tube and it was nice on the lows but did lack some on the highs, i changed to a jj83s and got a better tone highs to mids to lows sound more natural, i will be trying a mullard or a black plate in a month or so and i´ll report
