Hello everyone and thank you for taking a second to read this. I have a Valvestate 8100 that an old friend gave to me. He said that it's a great head but it keeps burning up the fuses and he's had enough of it. He had a second head, don't remember the model (frankly I was too stoked about having a freeeeeee Marshall Head.)
Anyhow, what is it that might cause it to continually blow fuses?
Thanks guys. By the way, (introductions) My name is StootMonster, I play all sorts of music. My loves are blues and Jazz, but I listen and play just about everything. I play an Epiphone Sheraton II and a Fender American Standard Stratocaster. I also play through a MG250 DFX and an old vintage Fender VibroChamp. I used to play out back in the day, but these days I play at my local Church and with any musicians I happen to run into.
I appreciate your time, fellers.

First off Welcome. Secondly, I replied to one of your postings on the Marshall forum. Just as a repeat in case you read this post first, I would start simple, check that the fuse is the proper amp rating, obvious signs of a failed component on the circuit board. Wires that may have wore thru and are touching the chassis.

Good, thanks. That's what I was looking for. I'm going to start in on it tomorrow. I just am no repair guy. I build things, not wire and trouble shoot them.
Hopefully I can get this thing up and running and try to see what sounds I can get her to make.

Hopefully its an easy fix. I to am not much of a repair guy. I like to tinker. I know just enough to make me dangerous ;D (as my auto instructor would always tell us.)
