Anyone ever heard of or used one of these heads? I have a chance to get one for $50 not working. Just woundering if its worth the trouble. Honestly I am going to buy it anyway, even if I cant fix it at least I can use it for parts. Mainly woundering if anyone have opinions on the sound. Depending on how it turns out I might try to flip it for a few bucks or mod it. Tube preamp perhaps?

Pretty quick fix. Bad IC in the preamp. Pretty bad squeel when using the reverb. Thinking another bad IC in the reverb circut. Volume level cuts way down when using a footswitch so hopefully they are related to the same problem. Reverb really isn't that big of a deal, as long as I keep the knob all the way down its fine just no reverb.
As for sound, I'm liking the clean channel, with the master volume I can get good clean or crank the volume and get some good overdrive. Use a OCD for distortion and it sounds prety dam good. Boost/distortion channel is pretty sucky at this point. Maybe just needs more tweeking to get a better sound.

i had a mosfet head one time. really not a bad sounding amp. only thing i didnt like about it was, you need a footswitch to go from clean to dirty. now you can switch it from the head, but it sounds like the clean and dirty are bleeding together when you do it. so the best thing is to hook up a footswitch. the mosfet is one loud monster, and it likes pedals

Overall it was a pretty easy amp to troubleshoot, bad IC in the pre amp and a broken wire to the reverb tank. Not bad sounding, you are right about the bleed thru on both channels.
Couldnt justify a third Marshall head so I unloaded it on Ebay. Paid $60 sold it for $200.
