Hello all! Good to be here...as way of introduction, I'm an old fart who has played guitar for well over 40 years. I love all things guitar, amp, gear related....as all of us do!
I found a Marshall AVT50 for what I thought was a good price ($160) in a pawn shop recently. Did some google-ing and they seemed to be pretty well thought of. I went back to get it and the let me have it for $100.
Fired it up for the first time at band practice last night and for not having time to really dial it in, I was treated to some pretty darn good tones. I wound up using the gain channel and used the guitars volume control for cleanish to meanish tones. I was impressed at how dynamic and responsive it was and how 'tube like' it behaved.
I hand some great fun last night with this little amp.....I think I'm gonna like it! A speaker change (and perhaps the tube) will be in the works somewhere down the road, but for now I will leave it as is.
