What do you like to set your EQ at?
This is mine:
Clean
Gain 5
Volume 1-5 (to liking)
Bass 5
Treble 5
Overdrive
Gain 6
Volume 1-5 (same as clean)
Bass 7
Middle 8
Treble 4
Reverb 4 (Unplugged but still adds presence)
Preamp tube is a 5751 for low noise.

Here's how I set my AVT 20:
Gain - 6
Volume 8-10
Bass - 10
Mids - 7
Treble - 3
Reverb - 2
That give me a really nice "on the edge" tone with my Tele. I cut a bit of bass and roll up the treble with my HB guitars.
I replaced the 12AX7 with a NOS Amperex 12AT7. That tube really opened up the amp. I don't use the amp OD at all - the AVT 20 really likes pedals, and the pedals are more controllable.
This is actually my gigging setup. I run the DI out into the mains, with great results. The amp sits on a stand facing me, rather than pointing out into the audience. I've worked some fair sized rooms that way (200 people).

Yamaha RGX 121S with DiMarzio Air Norton HB for neck, Area '61 SC for middle, Breed HB for bridge.
I think the Tone control is a 250K pot and the volume pot is a 500k.
Also I have a Dunlop lock strap and use Ernie Ball Hybrid Coated strings.
