I just plugged the AVT50 into a cab I have with an Eminence Wizard in it and it sounds amazing. It's Eminence's version of the G12H30 but it has a 75 watt power rating. However, even though the speaker is rated at 8 ohms, it's twice as loud as the stock AVT50 speaker. It's the loudest, most efficient speaker I've ever used because it has a sensitivity rating of 103. It also has a 56 oz. magnet so I have a strong feeling the bass won't flub out when I crank the amp but that test will have to wait until I'm alone in the house tomorrow.

Sounds good, I I hope to find a couple of those speakers.
How is the bass response compared to the V30?

i tried a g12h30 anniversary on my avt50 combo and got good sound out of it at low volume at higher volume the sound was too crompressen, mover the g12h to an external larger cab and had the same type of sound at loud volumes, made an openning the size of a coke can to the can and problem solved
the lows response of the v30 on my combo was good, i loved the sound of it, but loved more the sound of it with the V30 and the G12h30

I don't want compression at higher volumes, so I'm going to stick with my 75 and V30.

hey you will be using an external cab that might behave different than what i had so donĀ“t rule it out just yet you might end up getting a different result than what i got, once i oppenend the vents i did get a very good tone out of the G12h3o

The Wizard is in an open back cab and sounds good with the AVT50. But according to Dave at Avatar Speakers, the Wizard (or a G12H30 which is what the Wizard is a clone of) will have too much low end for the closed back cab of the AVT50. Even with the wimpy stock speaker the AVT50 has good amount of that thumping Marshall bass. Dave said the V30 has less bass and more mids so it would be a better match for the AVT50 and it's closed back cab.
Wish I could decide between a Wizard and a V30. I want to try the V30 but I've read so many bad comments about them on forums, being harsh in the mids and upper mids.

If you want the Wizard by all means get it! It will most likely suit what you want out of your speaker.
On the other hand, the sound I am going for is a Nu-Tech Metal sound. Like bands: SikTh, Between The Buried And Me, Human Abstract, and Protest The Hero. I need that cut in the speaker for that aggressive tone.

the v30 on my avt50 sounded awesome i higly recomended, anothe guy at the marshall forum has the same opinion, but yes it has a hump on the mids but is good, i just took it out and used on my 4x12, whenever i have a chance i would get anoyher one or maybe get some clone that would be lower cost
